Introduction to Navigation

Over the next series of posts, I am going to try and teach anyone who’s interested the basics of navigating in the British countryside and mountains. I will be covering essentials such as grid references, map orientation, contours, map scales and features and anything else I think may be useful.
I’m hoping that this will also be a useful resource for those undertaking their Duke of Edinburgh awards in this unusual time
